Sometimes all we want is a relaxing night, watching a good movie with our besties. (Maybe with some wine too)
Here are some nice girl movies that most of us enjoyed and would re-watch for 100 times. Let’s skip the time of having to scroll through Netflix half the night looking for a movie, unsure of whether it is worth your time!
1. Enchanted
Life is as enchanting as a fairy tale for Giselle until she is sent away from her land, Andalasia, to New York City by the evil stepmother of her lover. In the real world, she meets a lawyer, Robert Philip, who is also a single father and falls in love with him.
Starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, the fantasy-musical film is extraordinarily sweet and absolutely delightful for girls, regardless of age (Yeah, as every woman is a princess in their heart).
2. Just My Luck
This romantic comedy film would make you wish to return to your teenage and experience a romance that starts with and depends on a single kiss. The story centers around Ashley Albright (Linsay Lohan) and Jake Jardin (Chris Pine) who have entirely different kinds of luck: Ashley is always lucky while Jake’s luck is always bad. After a kiss at a party, their luck is switched. Will they get their luck back in the end? Watch it and find out!
3. Bride Wars
Having Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway cast in the film is already a plus! Who wouldn’t love them? And with both of them playing childhood best friends who become sworn enemies when they plan to have their weddings on the same day, the rom-com film gets a lot more interesting. Anyway, the ending is quite inspiring. How inspiring? Watch it for yourself!
4. Walk of Shame
When a reporter, Megan Miles, is rejected for an anchor position and dumped by her boyfriend, she goes clubbing with her friends and ends up having a one-night stand with Gordon, a romantic fiction writer. She is then stranded in downtown Los Angeles the next day but has only 8 hours left to make it to a very important job interview. Starring Elizabeth Banks and James Marsden, the film will definitely give you a good laugh.
5. Friends with Benefits
Will sex in a friendship lead to complications? Let Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) tell you that! As both of them feel the need for a physical connection, Dylan and Jamie agreed that they could have sex without commitment or emotional attachments. However, little did they know that over time, they would start to develop feelings for each other. But with them denying it each time they are together, we can’t help but keep wondering will they go on a real date in the end. Guess there’s only one way to find out.
6. The Help
A film adapted from a novel of the same name, The Help tells the story about a young white female journalist, Eugenia (Emma Stone) and two African American maids, Aibeileen (Viola Davis) and Minny (Octavia Spencer) from the maids’ point of view. By focusing on the lives of African domestic workers during the Civil Rights Movements, the film exposes the hardships and unfairness they face in the country.
7. About Time
If you are looking for something sweet and romantic with a little bit of superpower for your movie night, try 'About Time'. The film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy, revolving around Tim, a young man who discovers his time travel ability tries to change his past so he can have a better future and a girlfriend. But what he’s trying to achieve is maybe harder than you thought.
8. What’s Your Number
What to do when you can’t find your Mr. Right? Maybe you’d keep dating like Ally Darling. In her 30s, this woman is still struggling to make better decisions in her life.
One day, she reads a magazine and believes that she will be forever alone, never being able to find the one who’s right for her. Worried, she looks back at the 19 men she has dated and begins a search for her ‘true love’. Don’t forget to enjoy the chemistry between Anna Faris and Chris Evans when watching the film based on the book “20 Times a Lady”!
There you have it! Ready for a chilled movie night with your girls now?
