MELAKA - A robber was arrested by the police after falling asleep in his car while waiting for two other criminals to flee from a house at Jalan Mangga 2, Taman MGBM Bachang, yesterday.
Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Afzanizar Ahmad said the 30-year-old suspect was caught with the help of the public.
He said, according to the police report made by the complainant, the house belonged to his deceased mother and the break-in incident was informed by a neighbor at about 5pm.
“The complainant along with his sister and brother-in-law rushed to the house and once at the location they found a man sleeping in a Hyundai Sonata car behind the house.

"The complainant turned off the engine and took the car keys," he said when contacted here today.
He added that with the help of neighbors, the suspect was arrested and believed to be in a trance under the influence of drugs.
Commenting further, he said, the complainant then saw the kitchen door of the house was open and two men were seen trying to escape with a television.

"Realizing the presence of the complainant, the two suspects fled.
"As a result of the inspection, the missing items were an old camera and a brown bag with an estimated loss of RM300," he said.
