The government has made it easy for locals to get their booster shots by allowing you to walk-in at your nearest PPV. Even so, many still refuse to do so because they are too worried about falling sick after getting their booster shot.

Well, according to Dr. Syid Ayob Syid Mustafa Al Qudri, a local doctor who often shares tips and answers health related question on TikTok, here's how you can avoid getting sick after getting your booster shot:

#1 Choose the right hand

Before getting your booster shot, think carefully about which arm you'd like to get the shot at. Make sure you choose an arm that is comfortable for you and that you think will make you less irritated. Choose the hand that you use less.

#2 Don't tighten up your arm

So, once you've chosen which arm you'd like, make sure you relax the arm as the vaccine is being administered. I know, you're scared and the anticipation of waiting for the needle to break through your skin can be quite stressful, but it is very important that you don't tighten up your arm when it is being administered.

#3 Ice it!

You should also place a cold compress on your arm to prevent inflammation or swelling. Just get a cloth and put some ice cube in it and place it on the injected area. This will also help reduce the pain.

#4 Move you hand about

After getting the booster shot, you might feel a little discomfort, pain or tightness in your arm. Don't let that stop you from moving your arm about and doing some small arm stretches or arm exercises for the first two days.

#5 Do not take any medication for 24 hours!

After getting the booster shot, your body will create antibodies to fight the infection. So avoid taking any medication like Panadol within the 24 hours after your vaccination to help the body produce antibodies to the maximum after the injection.
