If you're reading this blog, you might be procrastinating and if you want to avoid it in the future - we've got a rule that would help.
The 5 Second Rule is a concept by motivational speaker Mel Robbins, and it's a really simple yet effective way to break out of the procrastination cycle.
Heres how it works:
If you have the urge to take action, whether its doing a workout or brushing your teeth, you have a five-second window to physically move.
If you don't act within that window, your brain has time to kill the urge, and that's when procrastination kicks in.
So the secret to making sure you actually do the thing? Count down from 5 to 1 in your head, and as soon as you hit 1 take action.
You'd be surprised at how well it works to trick your brain into getting moving.
You can use this strategy to do everything, from jumping into cold showers to breaking habits or building new ones.
You might want to give it a try right now.
What do you need to work on in this moment? You have 5 seconds.
