Meet Ukaasyah Mohamad Anas, the young boy who gained online fame after his mother posted a now-viral TikTok video of him boarding a plane by himself. This heartwarming and nerve-wracking experience was reported by Harian Metro, capturing the attention and admiration of many.
According to Harian Metro, Ukaasyahs father, Mohamad Anas Mohamad Naem, recounted how his eldest son boarded a flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Kuching International Airport on June 2. Due to unforeseen circumstances, both he and his wife were unable to accompany Ukaasyah on the journey.
Ukaasyah returned to Sarawak because his school holiday had ended and he needed to continue his schooling there. My wife and I had matters to attend to, so we couldn't accompany him back, leading to us having to let him travel home alone, explained Mohamad Anas.
"Honestly, it was difficult to let Ukaasyah go and if you ask any parent, no one would be comfortable letting a young child fly alone", he claimed.
This was Ukaasyahs first solo flight, and his parents understandably found it hard to let him travel on his own. Mohamad Anas stayed at the airport until he saw his son board the plane, ensuring he was safely on his way.
Thankfully, Ukaasyah arrived safely in Sarawak, where he was warmly welcomed by his grandparents. Mohamad Anas praised the airline crew for their excellent care of his son, who later expressed excitement about flying solo again.
The viral TikTok clip, posted by Ukaasyahs mother, was intended to create a cherished memory and educate the public about the experience of minors traveling alone.
"There are many children out there who fly without their parents or guardians. It's just that it might not be shared", said Mohamad Anas.
Ukaasyah's solo flight not only highlighted the courage and resilience of young travelers but also underscored the vital role of airline staff in ensuring the safety and comfort of unaccompanied minors. This heartwarming story serves as an inspiring reminder of the adventures and milestones that children can achieve, even in the face of daunting challenges.
