JAKARTA - A wedding ceremony in Oimbo, Kota Bima, Indonesia was hit by a commotion when the groom was kicked by his future father-in-law, during the marriage contract process, reported the KlikAktual portal, yesterday.
Through a video recording uploaded on the Instagram page @makassarinfodotcom, the incident occurred when the bride's father mentioned 'bote' meaning monkey in Bahasa Bima while reciting the syahadah.
This angered the groom’s family, and they reprimanded the bride’s father for his actions.
“What else are you unsatisfied with? Why do you want to cause trouble by calling the groom a monkey? Please respect our family,” said the representative of the groom's family.
Dissatisfied with the reprimand, the bride's father suddenly got up and hit his son-in-law in the face before he could be held by the officiant and the witnesses who were there.
According to sources, the source of the bride's fathers was angry because the groom's family arrived late at the marriage ceremony.
They were supposed to arrive at 10AM but only showed up around 4PM.
The wedding session had to be continued online and it is reported that the two newly-weds have not lived in the same house until now due to the incident that happened on August 14.
