Amirul, an e-hailing passenger, reported a terrifying encounter on Twitter when he booked a ride to go out.
The whole thing started with the driver picking him up at the wrong place. But instead of complaining, Amirul decided to walk to where the driver was.
The driver instructed Amirul to fasten his seat belt and even said, "Don't worry, I'm a doctor," while holding out a stethoscope for Amirul to see.
During the first half of the drive, the driver drove so recklessly that he almost hit three cars.
Then, out of the blue, the driver asked him if he had a driving licence, to which Amirul said he did, but didn't have it with him at the moment.
And that was when the driver started behaving erratically by wailing and crying out loud for his mother.
Throughout the incident, Amirul tried to remain calm and kept in touch with his friend whom he was meeting so that he'd have proof of what happened in the car.
Then, the driver rammed three traffic cones on the road near the SMART highway.
Fearing for his life, Amirul offered to drive the car, whereupon the driver stopped the car on the side of the road and lay down in the back seat to sleep.
Amirul was stunned to find himself in such a situation and finally thought that it was very likely he was going to be killed.
When he reached his destination, he called out to his friend to meet him at the car and when the driver saw that it was a woman, he urged Amirul to bring her into the car so that he could get to know her.
Amirul then refused and paid the driver RM20 instead of the agreed fare of RM35. However, the driver had the nerve to ask for RM50, in which Amirul decided not to bother and walked away with his friend.

Internet users are appalled by the driver's behaviour and have even verified that the e-hailing service he used doesn't have an operating licence from the Land Public Transport Commission.

Kau bayangkan kalau kau accident cedera parah then nak claim insurance tak lepas sebab kau naik kereta takde permit.Madness

Guna Grab dan Airasia ride saje, dua ni confirm selamat.
This means that even if the passenger is involved in an accident during the ride and is injured, there is no way for the passengers to claim insurance as the service doesn't have a valid permit.
Given this story and the many others that have happened to e-hailing passengers, would you still use the service, or would you rather drive yourself instead?
Let us know!
