In a country where the climate isn't always favourable for cultivating certain fruits, a Malaysian man is defying the odds by growing grapes that rival premium ones found in supermarkets.
Azizi Ismail introduced himself as a local grape grower through a Facebook group, showcasing his impressive 100ft X 100ft grape farm in Dengkil, Selangor. Notably, these are lowland grapes.
Azizi shared, "Growing grapes is just my hobby. I have around 10 varieties of imported grapes from Ukraine, Japan, and Turkey. The flavour of these grapes can easily match those of premium grapes found in supermarkets.
The attached photos were taken a few months ago. Unfortunately, I had to relocate due to some issues with the land. If anyone is interested or needs advice on growing grapes in Malaysia, feel free to reach out."
When inquired about whether he sells his produce, given the awe-inspiring juiciness of the grapes, he revealed that he usually shares them with friends and family for free. He also mentioned that during the last season, his 35 grape vines produced over 200kg worth of grapes.
