Announced just today by the Shrek Official X account, its fifth sequel is in the works and Not too Far, Far Away.. (only about two years!)
Set to be released on July 1, 2026, unfortunately the movie will only be out 2 years from now.
But trust, that everyone’s hyped already.

Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are all set to reprise their roles for the sequel.
The announcement of the sequel most definitely stunned the public as it has been around 14 years since the 4th sequel was released and it will be 16 years when the 5th is set for a worldwide release.
