The Agong’s B’day Celebration To Be On Hold Due To COVID-19

The Istana Negara announced that all celebrations held in June in conjunction with the birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will be suspended due to the extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). 

Dato' Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Dato' Ahmad Fadil issued a statement today saying that as the country is still fighting against the pandemic to contain the spread of COVID-19, considering the safety and health of the people, all the celebrations scheduled for June 3 until 11 will be on hold.

“All activities will be suspended until another date.”

The statement stated that on March 4, The Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali announced that this year the government agreed to change the birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to June 8 (Monday), and It has been listed as a public holiday on June 8.
