Right now, we are amidst the third wave of the pandemic. Sometimes we have no choice but to leave our homes, so we do our part by wearing a face mask at all times. However, many iPhone users have been faced with a particular nuisance ever since the pandemic - we can't unlock our phones with Face ID.
We've come a long way and learned a lot to adapt to the "new normal", and now bloggers have found out how to unlock our iPhones with Face ID even when wearing a mask! Here's how in 3 simple steps:
Step 1:
Fold your face mask in half and put both loops around one ear. Press the mask onto your face (the more it follows the contour of your face, the better). You should now have half your face covered with a mask and the half not covered.
Step 2:
Open the Settings app and tap "Face ID & Passcode". In there, tap "Set Up and Alternative Appearance" or you can "Reset Face ID" then "Set Up Face ID".

Step 3:
Follow the setup process by moving your head in a circle slowly twice. (Hint: if it warns you that your face is obstructed, move the mask a slightly to the side or just ignore the warning.)
There you have it! Once done, try it out with your mask on and see the magic happen!
*Editor's note: I have tried setting up this way and it works! However, Face ID is not so consistent.
**Editor's 2nd note: After doing more research, there might be some ways to increase the consistency. Instead of setting the "mask look" as an alternative appearance, you can set it up by having the mask on the right side as your main Face ID look, then move the mask to the other side as your alternative Face ID look. Also, if you wear your mask slightly lower to show more of the bridge of your nose, it'll also increase the accuracy.
