KUALA SELANGOR: The atmosphere was anxious when a garbage truck belonging to the municipal council collided with a petrol station at Jalan Batu 2, Kuala Selangor last night.
A spokesman for the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Room said they received an emergency call at 3.53am and a total of eight officers from the Kuala Selangor Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to a petrol station at Jalan Batu 2.
“Arriving at the scene, a garbage truck was found in a smoky condition as a result of crashing into the petrol station but no fire was reported.
"The garbage truck belonging to the municipality was driven by a 29-year-old man believed to be drunk and the driver did not suffer any injuries," he said in a statement today.
JPBM Selangor added that the male driver was handed over to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for further action.
Earlier today, a 36-second video showing a garbage truck in a smoky state after crashing into a petrol station went viral on social media.
