A 31-year-old man in Teluk Intan, Perak who was just recovering from a buttock enlargement cosmetic procedure was found dead in a room at a local hotel.
According to the Hilir Perak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri, the 31-year-old man was found lifeless by his partner around 3 PM. Based on the preliminary investigation, the man came to the hotel at 9 AM the same day along with his partner prior to the procedure.
The cosmetic procedure was performed by a woman who claimed to be a cosmetics trader from Melaka, in which she charges RM500 per injection. "After the procedure was completed, the victim then excused himself to lie on the hotel bed, and the woman left the hotel immediately after to return to Melaka."
After a while, his partner noticed that he was unresponsive and not breathing, to which he immediately contacted the woman. The police were informed immediately after, and the man was unfortunately pronounced dead by the health officer, who was also present at the scene.
"The autopsy revealed that his cause of death was due to pulmonary edema, or swollen and watery lungs. So far, doctors have not been able to link the cause of death due to the injection taken by the deceased," said Ahmad Adnan.
It helps to do some extensive research before you subject yourself to risky cosmetic procedures, especially if it's not with a registered professional. Unexpected complications could easily happen and it might even take your life away.
