A religious school teacher had died of fatal injuries after being assaulted by two of his students. Classified as murder, the 43-year-old victim was hit in the head for confiscating his students' mobile phones.
The incident happened in Samarinda, East Kalimantan and according to the local police, the teacher was found lifeless and covered in blood in a mosque near the school. "The locals immediately took the teacher to the hospital for treatment, but the health officials confirmed that the teacher had passed from his injuries," said one of the police.
According to the suspects, who are both 15 years old, they were waiting to ambush the victim at the mosque and saw a pile of woods nearby, which they then used as their weapon. They admitted that they had no intention in killing the teacher and only wanted to snatch their mobile phones back.
The two students will be indicted in juvenile court on murder charges.
