Family Of Missing Penang Couple Pleads For Help As They Remain Uncontactable After Mysterious Trip To Bangkok

Family members of a young couple from Penang are pleading for the public's help after their loved ones went missing following a trip to Bangkok earlier last month. The couple, identified as 21-year-old Goh and his 23-year-old girlfriend Yumi, have been uncontactable since September 8, raising concerns over their safety.

Goh's cousin took to Facebook to share a now-viral post detailing the events leading up to their disappearance. According to the post, Goh informed his mother that he had secured a job as a driver in the UK and was scheduled to fly there on September 4, with a layover in Bangkok. He remained in contact with his mother until September 8, when he last responded to her messages about packing warm clothes for the trip to the UK.

Despite his regular communication, Goh was known to be reserved about sharing details of his personal life. His cousin mentioned that Goh had not disclosed to his family that Yumi was his girlfriend, adding to the family's shock and concern over the situation.

Similarly, Yumi had not informed her mother about any plans to travel to the UK. Both Yumi and Goh boarded a flight to Bangkok on September 4, and since then, Yumi has not been in contact with her family either as reported by Sin Chew Daily.

In a strange turn of events, Yumi reportedly contacted a close friend on September 7 via WeChat, revealing that both she and Goh had lost their luggage and important documents while in Spain. Yumi told her friend that this would leave them stranded in the country for one to two months, further complicating the mystery of their whereabouts.

Adding to the puzzle, videos have surfaced showing Goh and Yumi sharing a meal together and strolling through the Bangkok airport, which was shared with Yumi's close friend.

Since the couple went missing, Yumi's mother has been in a state of constant worry, urging her daughter to reach out and let her know that she is safe. Both families have filed police reports, but as of now, no new updates have been provided on their location.

The families are now asking for the public's assistance in locating the missing couple. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact Goh's brother at 017-4368411, his mother at 016-456621, or Yumi's mother at 017-3129926.

As the days pass, the couple's disappearance continues to leave their families and friends anxiously waiting for any news that might bring them home safely.
