A doctor working under the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Noor Hassan reportedly succumbed to extreme fatigue and passed away on 18th January. Prior to his demise, a photo captured by his fellow colleague shows Dr. Ali seemingly fallen asleep, exhausted while on duty.
The Ministry Of Health's representative, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah however, denied the allegations concerning his cause of death, stating that the deceased doctor had a pre-existing aneurysm that eventually led to his passing.
Whatever the circumstances may be, the negligence faced by our country's front-line workers can no longer be swept under the rug. The only heroes worthy of celebrating during this pandemic are instead met with terribly unbecoming consequences.
How many deaths must occur before we stop taking our front-liners for granted?
And most importantly, what can we do to uplift our heroes? Certainly, salutations in the form of street arts have proven to be rather short-lived.
