According to the Melaka Tengah Deputy Chief of Police Superintendent Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz, his department was informed of the incident from the public at around 7.15 AM. His team then rushed to the location and confirmed the incident. The newborn in question was sent to the Melaka General Hospital by an ambulance for further treatment.

"We've found the umbilical cord, placenta, and traces of blood on the baby's body," Raiz added. The poor baby was believed to have been abandoned at about 7 AM before she was discovered by a 51-year-old woman who happened to be present in the area.
