Not long ago, Malaysian internet sensation Gatita Yan revealed that she spent RM50,000 to hire domestic help, only to face difficulties in finding reliable assistance or dealing with workers who leave after just a few months.
Yesterday, Gatita took to her social media again to vent her frustration about domestic workers. This time, it wasn't about them absconding with money, but rather a new hourly cleaner she hired who did something unacceptable.
In her Instagram stories, Gatita shared that she has been busy with various tasks and decided to hire an hourly cleaner to tidy up her small studio. To her dismay, the cleaner took four hours to clean the tiny space.
What upset her even more was the discovery that the cleaner left a cushion on her bed while she was occupied with other matters. According to Gatita's stories, the cushion had been kept outside on the balcony, but the cleaner decided to place it on Gatita's bed, leaving her exasperated. She questioned the worker's lack of common sense, saying, "Don't they know there's a lot of dust on the cushions outside? My bed is now covered in dust, OMG!"
Upon witnessing this, Gatita immediately called her agent and demanded that the worker be removed promptly. Later in the evening, she updated her stories, expressing, "Without Kakak (domestic help), this is how it is. Even my pyjamas are wrinkled with no one to iron them."
What are your thoughts on this? Is a four-hour cleaning session excessive for a small studio? And just how common is common sense?
