After claiming that the beef soup she purchased at a Ramadan bazaar in Semabok on Wednesday evening was infested with fly eggs, a woman expressed her disappointment. She, who came from Johor Bharu, stopped by the bazaar to buy iftar delights and found fly eggs in the bone cavities inside the soup container upon returning home.
According to her, her intention in expressing this disappointment on social media, specifically Facebook, was not to embarrass the involved trader but rather to urge other traders to be cautious so that incidents like this do not occur again.
"Is this what they call delicious? The meat's odour has left me very disappointed and dismayed. Please, anyone who sees my post, convey my regards to the seller. See you in the hereafter," she wrote.
She also claimed that the seller insisted on selling two containers and giving her an empty soup bowl without meat for RM10, which forced her to comply.
"I handed over RM10, but the uncle told me the meat soup was delicious and asked me to take two containers even though it was only for me," she said.
Her post about the unfortunate experience went viral on social media and garnered various reactions from the public. Meanwhile, another user shared his experience buying beef martabak at the same bazaar for RM7 per piece but found that the delicacy only had onions and potatoes as filling.
"I bought one at the beef martabak stall for RM7; there was no meat filling, only onions and potatoes. Trade earnestly, don't be too eager for profit, go to Hajj," he lamented.
