In a world where kids are often glued to their gadgets, one Malaysian boy has taken a very different and rather unexpected path to cure boredom.
A video recently shared on TikTok by user @amyz444000 captured the attention of many after a mother, known as Diana, showcased her young son's quirky new hobby: collecting dead mosquitoes.

In the clip, Diana explains that her son, unlike most children who are typically obsessed with toys or cars, developed a fascination for mosquitoes. Instead of spending his free time playing games or watching cartoons, the boy has been diligently catching mosquitoes and sticking them into a notebook, which he proudly refers to as his "Mosquito Book."
What makes the hobby even more fascinating is the level of detail he puts into it. Each mosquito is labeled with the time it was caught, showing his dedication and methodical approach to the unusual collection. From the notebook, it appears that he has already gathered close to 30 mosquitoes, with a mix of medium and large ones neatly arranged on the pages.
According to Diana, the idea for the "mosquito museum" came about when she decided to restrict her son's phone usage during school days, from Monday to Friday. Without digital entertainment, the boy turned to a more hands-on (and winged) activity.
"When he can't use the phone on school days, his new hobby is catching mosquitoes. He can actually make it a hobby. Oh, son," Diana wrote in the caption of her video.
The comment section was filled with amused and amazed reactions from viewers, many of whom were surprised and entertained by the boy's creativity and initiative.
While the hobby may not be for everyone, it's a refreshing (and funny) reminder that children are capable of turning even the most annoying things, like mosquitoes, into something productive and imaginative.
