The news about cinemas set to reopen in July has had many of us really excited. After all, being holed up at home without new movies to enjoy on huge screens does make life a little duller. But, for those who have been counting down for the MCO to end so they could rush to the cinemas to have their ‘new movie marathons’, think again.
Recently, photos of moldy seats in a cinema theater have been circulating on the internet. The name of the cinema was not revealed, but it was said to be located in Ipoh, Perak, according to China Press.

Mold grows on a cushion surface when the surrounding humid level is high. Exposure to mold could cause sneezing, stuffiness, coughing, wheezing, and throat irritation, according to MV Times. However, no matter how troublesome it may be, there are ways to return a moldy cushion to its fungus-free state.
Now that the cinemas will be back in business in July, we hope the owners will treat this matter seriously and remove of all signs of molds before reopening their theaters.
