Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that as long as the Malaysian students who are sponsored by the Public Service Agency (JPA) or any government agencies, as well as they have completed their studies abroad and returning to Malaysia, they will be sponsored for 50% quarantine fees at hotels.

According to The Borneo Post, a total of 18,000 people have applied to the country’s embassies and signed a letter agreeing to pay the quarantine costs to return to the country.
“Parents need not worry as their children are subjected to 14 days of mandatory quarantine upon returning. The sponsors and the federal government will bear their quarantine cost at hotels,” he said during the daily press conference at Putrajaya here today.
Starting from June 1, all Malaysians are told to bear half the cost of quarantine fees at hotels while non-citizens will have to pay the full amount. People with disabilities are exempted from the payment.
