On November 10, 2024, the Kluang police issued an announcement on Facebook stating that the above incident had been solved, the teenager had been found and was safe, and thanked the public for their assistance and their concern.
It turns out that during the time the teenager was "missing", he had been playing PS2 games at his friend's house!
According to Sinar Harian, Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the teenager's family lodged a police report on his disappearance on Nov 5, 2024.
"The teenager went missing after leaving his home at Jalan Dahlia, Kampung Melayu, Kluang and was found safe in the early hours of yesterday (Nov 10)."
"During the time he was missing, he had been staying at a friend's house in the same kampung."
"At 3:30 am, the teenager's parents saw him at home."
The boy later told his parents that he had been at his friend's house playing PS2 and killing time. The boy also said that he actually went home to take a shower and eat during this period, but his parents were not at home.
It is understood that before the boy "disappeared", his mother last saw him at home at 7:30 am on November 5.
According to his mother, they later went to the homes of relatives, friends and neighbours to look for the boy, but they couldn't find him.
