Let’s find out how many of these Bahasa Rojak phrases do you know. If you know all of them then you can proudly tell your friends that you are a true Malaysian. 

If you don’t know them then I think its time you start asking yourself what the hell is wrong with you!!!


1. Ayat

Meaning: To flirt with someone

Example: 

A: “Wah bro, your new gf very pretty la, how someone like you can get her?”

B: “I ayat her nicely la, that’s how.”

2. Gostan

Meaning: To reverse your vehicle

Example:

A: “Can help me see still got space or not ah?”

B: “Got. Got. You gostan a little bit more.”

3. Fong fei kei

Meaning: To bail out of a meeting or appointment at the last minute

Example:

4. Kot

Meaning: Maybe

Example:

5. Boleh tahan

Meaning: When something is not too good but not too bad also / not too shabby

Example:

A: “Nice meh your fried rice?”

B: “Boleh tahan la”

6. Cable

Meaning: Having connections in high places

Example:

A: “Wah, I just kena saman because I modify my motor exhaust! RM 1500!”

7. Kautim

Meaning: Done, finished, settled or to show agreement

Example:

Meaning: Broke, or to have no money

Meaning: To be a disgrace or an embarrassment

Example:

10. Onz

Meaning: To agree to do something

A: “Wanna go hiking tomorrow?”

B: “Okok. Onz!”
