On January 30TH, 2024, at approximately 4:42 PM, a red Toyota Vios reportedly failed to yield to an emergency ambulance with sirens activated on Tanjung Kidurong Road, Bintulu.
The ambulance involved belonged to the Ministry of Health, and the case was promptly addressed by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Bintulu District Police Headquarters. The driver of the Toyota Vios, identified as a 74-year-old local man, apparently experienced hearing problems, and it was reported that his hearing aid was not functioning correctly during the incident.

In response to the incident, a summons was issued to the driver under Section 9 of Traffic Rules 166/59. This section pertains to the offense of not giving way to a moving ambulance with activated sirens.
