In a disturbing incident last week in Melaka, a 40-year-old unemployed man was arrested for physically assaulting his daughters and exposing himself at their home in Jasin. Jasin District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Jamil Radzi, revealed that the incident occurred on February 26th, around 10 PM, when the suspect returned home intoxicated.
The suspect reportedly began verbally abusing his wife, who runs a nasi lemak business, before physically assaulting the 40-year-old woman. Fleeing from the abuse, the victim sought refuge in her three daughters' room. Shockingly, the suspect followed her, lowered his pants, and exposed himself to the terrified daughters.
Not only did the suspect subject his 16-year-old daughter to physical assault, but he also stomped on his other daughters' heads, aged 12 and 14. The woman attempted to intervene but was unsuccessful in preventing the escalating violence. In desperation, she sought refuge at her mother-in-law's house nearby.
Following the harrowing incident, the victim and her children promptly filed a police report. Law enforcement acted swiftly, apprehending the suspect around 1:40 AM on the same day.
The case is currently under investigation, and the suspect, who remains in police custody, is set to face charges under Section 15 (a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017. His court appearance is scheduled for Thursday. The incident highlights the urgent need for addressing domestic violence and ensuring the safety of victims.
