A 47-year-old local woman was found dead last night, believed to have fallen from the 23rd floor of a condominium on Jalan Buli Sim Sim.
Medical personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene, citing severe head and leg injuries as the cause of death.
Sandakan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek, said authorities were notified of the incident at approximately 8 pm.
"Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a woman who appeared to have fallen from the building," Abdul Fuad said.
Preliminary investigations, including reviews of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the condominium's elevator, revealed that the woman had exited on the 23rd floor. Further inquiries determined that she was not a resident of the building.
The woman's body was later sent to the Forensic Unit at Duchess of Kent Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Abdul Fuad stated that the case has been classified as a sudden death report.
