Leighton Meester is set to guest star alongside her husband, Adam Brody, in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s romantic comedy series, Nobody Wants This.
The show centers on the unconventional romance between Noah (Brody), a rabbi, and Joanne (Kristen Bell), a candid podcast host.
Meester will portray Abby, Joanne’s former middle school rival turned Instagram mommy influencer.
This casting marks another collaboration for Meester and Brody, who have previously shared the screen in projects like The Oranges (2011) and Life Partners (2014).
Despite frequently receiving joint offers, the couple is selective about co-starring opportunities. “We have to resist more than we seek it out”, Meester said in an interview.
The announcement comes after a challenging period for the couple. In January 2025, their Pacific Palisades home was among the numerous properties destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires. The fires led to widespread evacuations and significant property loss.
Nobody Wants This debuted in September 2024 and was renewed for a second season the following month. The new season is slated for release in 2025, promising to delve deeper into the complex dynamics between Noah and Joanne, especially with the introduction of Meester’s character.
Fans can anticipate the on-screen chemistry between Meester and Brody, adding a fresh layer to the series narrative.
The couple, married in 2014 and share two children.
