ICYMI: WATCH: Israeli Settler Sparks Outrage On Social Media With Mockery Amidst Gaza Crisis

A Malaysian influencer lost over 100,000 followers on TikTok after posting a controversial video regarding the Palestine-Israel conflict. Lifestyle influencer, Syamimia, faced online backlash and was accused of insensitivity after she admitted to not sharing updates about the injustice faced by Palestinians.

In a four-minute video originally posted on her Tiktok account @syamimia_ , the influencer responded to netizens who asked for her support for the issue.

Syamimia said that "If I don't share about it, it does not mean that I am unaware, ignorant, or uncaring. Let's all strive to be better, support what is right, and pray."

She also said that good deeds should not be limited to the Palestine issue alone but should be carried out comprehensively, including within one's own family.

The video has since been making its rounds on TikTok before it was deleted by Syamimia due to the negative remarks she received. However, her video was uploaded on various other social media platforms by online netizens who continue to criticise her.

Despite issuing a public apology during a TikTok live session, a handful of netizens still rejected her apology and proceeded to unfollow her account which caused her followers to deplete.

"The video was deleted not because I was afraid of losing followers, not because of my ego, not because I was right, but because there were too many insults and it was embarrassing for my name. I also apologise if I didn't meet the criteria of the 'influencer' title you labelled me with. There was too much hatred thrown at me, and I hope we can all find forgiveness. I didn't disturb anyone," she said.
