Tech genius Mark Zuckerberg has announced that Meta is going for another a mass layoff this year.
It's reported that around 10,000 employees in the workforce are set to lose their jobs as the company looks into "improving its financial performance amidst a difficult environment". The news was circulated by Zuckerberg via a memo.
Those in the tech and business groups will reportedly be the first to face the layoffs, beginning in April and May respectively. Meanwhile, the rest of the process is expected to be carried out until the end of the year.
Zuckerberg wrote the following statement:
"Over the next couple of months, org leaders will announce restructuring plans focused on flattening our orgs, canceling lower priority projects, and reducing our hiring rates. With less hiring, I've made the difficult decision to further reduce the size of our recruiting team."
