A dispute over passage through a narrow road took a dangerous turn last Friday in Pekan Kota Belud, Sabah, resulting in a violent altercation involving machetes and iron rods.
The incident unfolded around 11:30 AM and gained significant attention on social media platforms as a video capturing the brawl circulated widely.
Superintendent Shahrudin Mat Husain, Chief of Police for Kota Belud District, provided insight into the altercation, stating that it centered on two individuals at the entrance road to a parking area near Tamu Minggu Kota Belud.
"The altercation stemmed from a failure to yield by both parties while navigating the tight passage," Superintendent Shahrudin disclosed, according to Sinar Harian.
Despite the intensity of the brawl, Superintendent Shahrudin emphasized that the involved parties share familial connections and have since resolved their differences amicably.
However, no official police reports have been lodged regarding the incident as of now.

Authorities are currently examining the case under Section 160 of the Penal Code, which pertains to public altercations, reports Sinar Harian.
