Mispronouncing certain words in a language that is not our first language can be quite common. However, making such a mistake during a live interview that happens to be attended by the Minister of Health, Director-General of Health, and other national media personnel? That could be quite embarrassing.
During a Ministry of Health live media conference with Malaysia's Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin, and Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham, a man in the background can be heard announcing "Pheonix TV" uttering a pronunciation that was not quite right. Not once, or twice... but thrice.
This prompted KJ to lightheartedly berate the person, saying, "Phoenix TV, not Phonix. Don't la embarrass us, alamak!" in which he comedically hung his head down in shame. DG Hisham couldn't help but let out a cheeky smile over the amusing debacle.
