Two Dutch workers have reportedly contracted the new coronavirus from mink!
According to the Dutch Agriculture Minister Carola Schouten, four minks from all the 155 fur factory farms across the Netherlands were found carrying the coronavirus. Among the four minks, three were infected by humans, while the reason the other had the virus remained unclear. However, two fur farm workers were already being infected by the minks.

The director of the country’s National Institute for Public Health and the Environment said while there were cases where cats and other animals got the virus from humans, it is uncommon for Dutch minks to pass it to humans. “This is our first discovery, at least we’ve proven that there are two situations in which animal-to-human transmission is possible”
