There will be no repercussions for the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) officials who allegedly roughed up 69-year-old senior citizen Patrick Khoo Kian Wui during a recent violent stray dog capture operation.
According to the MBPJ, no charges were filed against the MBPJ officials because the dog-catching tool struck the complaint by accident during the
scuffle.
In a news release issued today, the city council verified this while also stating that it will endeavour to enhance protocols during "higher risk" operations to catch strays.
According to MBPJ, in the future, their officers will wear body cameras and coordinate with police to undertake combined operations for higher-risk missions.
They also stated that they will invite representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and residents' associations to witness its operations in order to maintain transparency.
