People diet for many reasons, for better health, to prepare for a competition, or most commonly, to lose weight. The key to a successful weight-loss diet is to use up more energy than you consume. With that in mind, if you consume these foods during your diet, you're essentially rendering it useless. Even worse, you might even realize that you're gaining weight during your diet!
Coffee
The whole truth is, coffee does indeed help with weight loss. What we're trying to avoid here is coffee with added milk and sugar! Lattes and mochas have high amount of sugar and should not be taken during a diet. If you really need your daily hit, go for black coffee instead.
Trans Fat Foods
Trans fat is an unsaturated fat that has heaps of negative effects. Doughnuts, fried foots, and desserts have trans fat that makes it all the more tastier. However, the amazing taste comes at a price of higher cholesterol levels. So, avoid high-fat foods and food with artificial components as they are not only unhealthy, but unhelpful with your diet.
Instant Noodles
Not only are instant noodles packets of carbohydrates, they are usually fried to preserve them in their current form for a long time. Instant noodle flavorings make it worse by having 0% nutrients and 100% MSG. During a diet, do not be tempted by the ease of preparation and good taste of instant noodles.
Alcohol
Although the pros and cons are still up for debate, it is a known fact that alcoholic drinks like beer have a certain amount of calories (not something you want extra of during a diet). Another problem lies in the snacks that we usually eat while drinking. Studies have shown that alcohol excites certain brain cells that causes us to snack more while drinking.
We know these foods taste great and we almost can't live without them. But, if you're serious about your diet and about losing weight, then don't risk ruining your progress by avoiding these foods like the plague!
