A horrifying incident unfolded in Selayang when an unknown assailant suddenly poured acid on a couple as they entered an elevator at Laksamana Jaya Apartment. The incident was captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed in the apartment building. The incident gained widespread attention after a Facebook user named Khairy Adli uploaded a video of the incident and photos of the victims in the 'Gombak Food Delivery' group. The victims, who were identified as friends of Khairy Adli, worked as vendors selling nan bread.

According to Khairy Adli's Facebook post, the victims were attacked with acid on Wednesday. Their eyes and bodies suffered severe burns. Khairy Adli appealed to anyone with information about the attacker to come forward. He identified the victims as the owners of Nan Corner, a nan bread shop in Selayang. He further expressed concern about the safety of conducting business in the area and suggested that jealousy might be a possible motive for the attack.
