You've probably heard of TnG's e-AngPaw initiative by now, where users can send as well as receive money packets all through the TnG e-Wallet application in a few easy steps.
However, the Touch n Go eWallet has also urged users to be extra mindful when participating in these transactions and not to click on any links sent by strangers in fear of falling victim to a scam tactic.
If you do decide to click on the link, you are advised to double-check the authenticity of the account linked and ensure that the account is verified and valid. Users are also warned not to click on the e-red envelope link from strangers if it's not via the TnG app as it is most likely a scam. Again, the eAngPaw service is exclusive to TnG app only, and not on the website, or any other platforms for that matter. Also, check if the sender has already activated their Money Packet feature. If the link does not check any of these lists, refrain from clicking on it.
If you plan on giving your loved ones eAngPaw, it's better to inform them beforehand so they know it's coming from you and of course, make sure you've verified your account before sending any Money Packet to anyone.
Lastly, just be extra vigilant before clicking any links these days. These scammers are developing new ideas everyday!
