Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, the well-known preacher recognized as Ebit Lew, is now under police investigation following allegations of rape made by Indonesian influencer Mondy Tattoo.
The Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) at Bukit Aman, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, has confirmed that this case will be probed under Section 376 of the Penal Code, which pertains to rape offenses.
It has been disclosed that Mondy had previously lodged a police report, accusing the preacher of sexual assault. Notably, five days before Ebit Lew filed his report, the police had already received another report from Mondy, where she alleged being a victim of sexual assault.
During a press conference held at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters on Thursday, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily shed light on the situation. He revealed that upon Ebit Lew's arrival in Malaysia, he promptly filed a police report, addressing allegations of defamation against him. Furthermore, he submitted another police report to refute the rape allegations. Currently, Mondy, the Indonesian woman involved, remains in Malaysia.
These cases are being probed under Section 376 of the Penal Code, Section 500 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act of Malaysia 1998.
