A man, identified as Harma Zulfika Deraman, 30, was sentenced to six months in prison and fined RM500 at the Magistrate's Court today for exhibiting the Israeli flag last October. If he fails to pay the fine, an additional three-month jail term awaits him.
However, the implementation of this sentence will occur post the completion of his ongoing five-year imprisonment under Section 39C of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Magistrate Zur Azureen Zainalkefli reached this verdict after the accused pleaded guilty to the charge of displaying the Israeli flag, which violated the National Emblems (Control of Display) Act 1949.
The accused committed this act at a vehicle accessories shop in Kampung Padang Lebam, Bukit Payung, around 1 pm on October 19th last year. He was charged under Section 3(1) of the National Emblems (Control of Display) Act 1949 and could be penalized under Section 8(1)(i) of the same act.
