After going viral on social media for its beautiful views of the limestone karsts and calm green lakes that have a mirror effect, reflecting the tall limestone karsts and the cloudy skies, Tasik Cermin in Ipoh has certainly drawn in crowds of locals hoping to see for themselves the beauty this place holds.
In conjunction with Labour day and Hari Raya, Malaysians had the luxury of enjoying a long 5 day holiday and some were even smart enough to take Thursday and Friday off so they get a whole 9-day vacation away from work. Whenever we get a long holiday, the first thing we Malaysians do is plan a short vacation with our believed families to the latest tourist hotspot, in this case, it was Tasik Cermin in Ipoh.
Thanks to all the media coverage over the past few months, crowds swarmed the spot causing it once again to go viral on social media but this time not because of its beauty but because of how crowded it was!
Here are some of the photos of the crowds:
Netizens expressed their concern, opinions and thoughts in the comments section and we can't get enough of it. Here are some of their comments:
Translation: More like a human lake...
Translation: I am worried that the steel platform will collapse. I can't even imagine it. Scary.
Translation: If it is so crowded like this, taking photos will be super hard, so it may be better if we just go there on another day.
Translation: Just take photos in front of the mirror the toilet la...
Translation: So many people going to a place that has nothing... The majority of people would surely be regretting their decision to go there. Only those living outside of Ipoh would go to these places, Ipoh people already know this place.
Translation: Feels like more of a school trip rather than a holiday. So many people and even if you want to go to the toilet you'll have to wait. Not fun at all...
Translation: Malay festival, Indians and Chinese also celebrate. Indian festival, Malays and Chinese also celebrate. Chinese festival, Malays and Indian also celebrate. This is Malaysia.
