If you've ever been to any government offices, you know that it is always crowded and it always takes hours! There are times when I have seen people actually sleeping soundly while waiting for their turn.
Well, since the pandemic, a lot has changed, thankfully. One of the latest things that many still are unaware of is that you can now replace your identification card online!
Recently, a Twitter user with the username @anisssurayaaa, shared a step-by-step guide on how to replace your ic online.

Here's how to do it:
#1 Create an account
Visit the MyGOV website and create an account. You will have to fill in your personal details and then activate your account through email.
#2 Log in to your account
Click on this link and log into your account.
#3 Click on the "Ganti MyKad" option
If you look at the right side of the page, there will be a "Ganti MyKad" option. Click on it and then, read the "Akuan Penafian"/Disclaimer and click on "Setuju"/Agree.
#4 Fill in the information needed
There are 3 sections you will have to fill up, Applicant Info, Replacement Type and MyKad Collection Office. Once you've filled it all out, click on "Teruskan"/Proceed.
#5 Recheck your info
Recheck all the information and then click on "Saya Setuju"/Agree and "Teruskan"/Proceed.
#6 Make your payment
You will then be redirected to the payment page where you will have to make your payment for the replacement. Be sure to keep a copy of the receipt!
#7 Check your application
After 2 days, check the progress of your application through SMS. Type JPN MYKAD and send to 15888. If you get a notification stating that you can collect your card then just walk in at the JPN office you picked during your application and collect your new IC.
According to the tweet, if there are no problems, it would normally take 1/2 to be completed. However, if you have problems like a spoilt thumbprint or 3 or more times missing IC then, your IC could take up to 3 months to be ready.
