As reported in Malay Mail, social media influencer, Arwind Kumar, also known as Mak Cik Rosmah, is donating his personal savings to families who are affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO). He posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption:
"I know it's hard for many families and I want to try and help. I would like to give out RM150 to 10 families who need it. I have been saving up little by little in the past months and I know there is no better time and way to spend my savings than now and this.
If you know families struggling for provisions and are in need of financial aid please let me know? If you are one of them, please share your background story with me below. It is not a lot but I hope you won't have to starve anymore. Please comment below and let me know? Even if there are more, I will try to raise funds to ensure all families in need get a little help.
I love you all so much. It's not me. It's US. "
After this message got out, his inbox was soon filled with messages of these financial-suffering families. He has donated RM2,500 to help these families.
"I am sending out funds every day as the requests from families in need are increasing.”
“I even had to skip my breakfast or dinner sometimes to ensure I can maximize the number of families aided in a day,” he added.
And that was the moment for the #quaranTEAM project to launched to collect funds through Airfunding, a crowdfunding platform.
Arwind will be updating the latest information on his Facebook pertaining to the #quaranTEAM, including the number of families that they managed to help daily.
