A Twitter user (@KLCCElevators) posted a tweet on June 9 and had captured the attention of netizens.
The user posted 2 photos of an ATM machine, along with the Malay caption, claiming that people sprayed hand sanitizer on the ATM machine and that the machine went short circuit. The user then advised the public to spray the hand sanitizer on their hands after using the machine, instead of spraying at the machine if they are fearful of COVID-19.
Ada orang dah pi spray alcohol + water solution kat ATM machine.

Tak pasal pasal boleh short circuit.
Kalau takut covid, spray kat tangan selepas guna atm. Bukan spray kat screen dan keyboard. pic.twitter.com/axhozWrK9T
It could be seen in the photo that the keypad of the ATM machine appeared to be wet and that the screen too was foggy.
Sin Chew Daily too reported this incident that the person in charge of the mall clarified that the short circuit of that machine was not caused by the spray of hand sanitizer.
However, the management of the mall will be publishing a notice in front of the ATM machines to remind the public to not spray any liquids on the ATM machines, in order to avoid any malfunction of machines.
