A 41-year-old woman in Malaysia was so angry that her husband, who was under 42 years old, was having an affair with a foreign woman, she attacked her husband's private parts with a baseball bat until he bled, causing him to almost die.
The defendant was also accused of using the same baseball bat to blow out the mirror of her husband's BMW before reporting the incident to the Muar Police District.
She was taken to the Muar Magistrate's Court and the Sessions Court for questioning on May 15 and 16, 2024, but she pleaded not guilty and was released on bail pending trial.
According to reports from Oriental Daily, the defendant Lim Siow Leng (translated as Lin Xiuling) is a housewife with four children.
She faced a charge at the Muar Sessions Court on May 16, 2024. The defendant was accused of using a baseball bat to attack her husband in a factory at 9:20 am on November 5, 2023, causing the other party to almost be seriously injured.
This behaviour violates Section 324 of the Penal Code (injuring others with weapons) and Section 326A of the Penal Code (seriously causing injury to others). Once convicted, she may be sentenced to 10 years in prison, a fine, caning, or two of these criminal laws. Under Section 326A of the Penal Code, once convicted, the person may be sentenced to twice the above penalty.
The prosecutor in this case is Nur Sulehan Abd Rahman. The defendant did not retain a lawyer and denied the above-mentioned crimes. The prosecutor pointed out that the crime committed by the defendant should not be released on bail, but whether to grant bail depends on the discretion of the judge.
The trial judge, Irwan Suainbon, allowed the defendant to be released on bail pending trial with a RM5,000 bail and a surety, and postponed the case to May 20 for mention.
In addition, the defendant faced another charge at the Muar Magistrates Court on May 16, 2024. She was accused of smashing the mirror of her husbands BMW at 9:40 a.m. on November 5 last year, causing The other party suffered a losses of RM15,233.
The above-mentioned behaviour violates Section 427 of the Penal Code (vandalism). Once convicted, she may be sentenced to imprisonment for 1 to 5 years, or a fine, or both. The prosecutor in this case is Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohammad Arif Marzuki. The defendant did not retain a lawyer and denied the above-mentioned crimes.
The trial judge, Fatin Dalilah Khalid, allowed the defendant to be released on bail pending trial with a bail of RM2,800 and one surety, and the case was postponed to June 26 for mention.
It is understood that the couple is currently going through divorce procedures.
