In a disturbing case, a personal chaffeur, R. Segaran, faced charges in the Sessions Court for allegedly cutting his 14-year-old stepson's hand and forcing his 10-year-old stepdaughter to drink urine. The incidents reportedly occurred in a flat in Dang Wangi on Dec 15th and 16th, respectively. Despite the serious charges, Segaran pleaded not guilty to both accusations during his court proceedings.

Under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, the accused is charged for both offenses, with a maximum penalty of RM50,000 or a maximum imprisonment of 20 years or both if convicted.
Deputy public prosecutor Roslizi Sulaiman expressed concerns about the safety of the two victims and did not propose any bail for the accused.
