Oriental Daily reported that starting from April 25, Malaysians who are staying at their hometowns can apply to go back to their working cities or residences through the online application or to the police station nearby.
"If you are granted permission to return, the fastest may also start on May 1st."
The Minister of Defence, Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob disclosed that Malaysians could apply through the Gerak Malaysia app or go to the nearest police station to apply.

He further explained that applicants must provide detailed information, including the current location and the location of residence or workplace, in order for the authority to arrange.
Regardless, he emphasized that this measure is still under study because the government is still waiting for the report of the Ministry of Health (MoH) as of April 25.
He revealed at the press conference today (April 22) that the government will conduct research and obtain advice from the MoH. If feasible, standard operating procedures will be introduced.
He added that the government understands the worries of those who stayed in hometowns as they have left their residences for more than 1 month.
