In a move that left its employees overjoyed, Henan Mine Crane Co. Ltd, a company based in China, turned their annual meeting on January 25 into an unforgettable event by distributing RMB60 million (approximately RM36 million) in cash as year-end bonuses.
The highlight of the gathering was a nearly 70-meter-long table stacked with cash, where employees participated in a thrilling "money-counting" game. The rules were straightforward but exciting: each team of 30 employees selected two members with the fastest counting skills. These chosen employees then had a limited time to scoop up and count as much money as they could. Whatever amount they managed to count was theirs to keep.
The stakes were high, but the rewards were even higher. Some employees proved to be lightning-fast, with one individual taking home an astounding RMB100,000 (about RM60,000) within just 15 minutes of counting.
"This year, the company sold over 128,000 cranes, generating a net profit of RMB260 million (approximately RM160 million). With a profit like this, distributing a year-end bonus of RMB100 million (about RM60 million) was no challenge," explained the company's president.
Originally, the company planned to distribute RMB40 million (approximately RM24 million) during the event. However, the chairman, moved by the enthusiasm and energy of the employees, spontaneously added another RMB20 million (about RM12 million) to the pot, raising the total bonus amount to an impressive RMB60 million.
The president also highlighted the company's financial stability as a key factor behind their generosity. "We have no bank loans, no debts, and we sincerely want to improve our employees' lives," he shared.
This grand gesture by Henan Mine Crane Co. Ltd not only showcased the company's success but also demonstrated their commitment to valuing and rewarding their employees.
