A shocking moment unfolded during the AFC Champions League Elite match on December 3rd between JDT & Buriram United, as Thai footballer Theerathon Bunmathan was red-carded for an inappropriate act on the field.
The game, which ended in a 0 – 0 draw, saw both teams competing fiercely for a spot in the Round of 16.
However, an unexpected incident occurred in the final minute of the first half when JDT's Arif Aiman fouled Bunmathan on the wing.
While Aiman extended a hand to help the Buriram United player up, Bunmathan unexpectedly pinched Aiman in the crotch as he got to his feet.
Although the referee did not see the act in real time, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) reviewed the incident and showed the clear pinch.
As a results, Bunmathan was issues a red card and sent off for his unsporting conduct.
