In a dramatic turn of events, a series of viral videos featuring an Indonesian domestic helper seemingly in distress, alleging abuse by her employer, has taken an unexpected twist.
Previously, multiple videos circulated on social media, showing a foreign woman identified as an Indonesian domestic helper appearing distraught and making claims of abuse by her employer. The videos quickly gained traction and went viral, sparking public concern and outrage over the alleged mistreatment of the maid.

Amidst the viral abuse claims, the situation took an unexpected turn when the police received a report from the employer, a 52-year-old local woman, regarding the disappearance of valuable items and cash from her residence. According to the Chief of Johor Bahru Selatan District Police, ACP Raub Selamat, the suspect in question is the same Indonesian domestic helper who had previously made the abuse allegations.
The 31-year-old domestic helper reportedly fled from the complainant's residence in the Taman Pelangi area last Monday at 11.21 AM. During her escape, the suspect was seen wearing a black T-shirt with yellow stripes on the chest and red trousers. The police's initial investigation indicated that she escaped while carrying a blue shopping bag, climbing over the front gate of the house to make her getaway.
Adding to the complexity of the case, the police received additional information in the form of four videos ranging from 12 to 30 seconds in length, and a statement that had gone viral on Twitter through the account @mynewshub. These videos showcased a local man engaging in a conversation with the foreign woman, who reiterated her claims of abuse allegedly endured while working as a domestic helper in Taman Pelangi.
ACP Raub Selamat clarified that the police are actively searching for the suspect to aid in the investigation. However, it was revealed that the man seen in the videos had only assisted the woman in filing a report related to the loss of her passport and did not address the allegations of abuse. The case is currently being investigated under Section 381 of the Penal Code.
