ICYMI: Dispute Erupts At Petronas Twin Towers' Skybridge Over Alleged Queue Jumping
Millennials breathed a sigh of relief when the Defence Ministry clarified that only teenagers born in 2007 would be participating in the National Service Training Programme (PLKN 3.0) if the programme resumes next year.
A tweet posted by user @jllmisai went viral where he said: "Just in! This is the latest clarification. Only those born in 2007 and beyond need to join PLKN 3.0. If there's a valid reason, they can request a deferral until the age of 35. Please take note. Case closed!"
JUST IN..!!

Ni baru jelas.. Yang lahir 2007 dan selepasnya saja perlu sertai PLKN 3.0.. Jika ada alasan munasabah, dia boleh buat penangguhan sehingga umur 35 tahun. Harap maklum.. Tutup kes.. pic.twitter.com/m3LYtdjOhA
The tweet gained 1.1 million views and received 14,000 likes and counting since it was posted at about 11.50am yesterday on X (previously Twitter). Following Mohamad's announcement, which provided much-needed clarification regarding the previous misunderstanding, a multitude of X users eagerly took to the comment section to share their diverse and passionate opinions and emotions.
A majority of them, notably millennials, breathed a collective sigh of relief upon realising hey would not be among those participating in national service.

So goodluck for those yg lahir tahun 2007 and above
Another user, @ctkusut expressed frustration because the previous government statement had caused confusion.
"Jika ada alasan munasabah, dia boleh buat penangguhan sehingga umur 35 tahun." Kenapa ayat mcm ni takde dlm pemakluman tu? Baru paham. Tapi yg lahir 2007, 2024 tu dia nak spm. So kenapa offer kat budak2 nak fokus SPM?

She said it was good that the matter has been clarified.

Meanwhile user @aminnur_amin took advised youngsters who were eligible to join the programme.
"I just want to say one thing. If you (the younger generation) receive an offer to join PLKN (National Service Training Programme), please go. Build your character. Build good relationships with new friends. Just consider it a special call for self-improvement. If the Palestinians had their own version of PLKN in their country, they would surely be rushing to join," he said.
Satu saja nak pesan. Kalau adik2 dapat tawaran ke PLKN ni, masuk. Bina jatidiri. Bina hubungan baik dengan kawan-kawan baru. Anggap sajalah ni panggilan istimewa berjuang untuk diri sendiri.

Orang Palestin kalau ada PLKN versi negara diorang, mesti diorang berpusu nak pergi.
The Defence Ministry today clarified the confusion surrounding the age limit for the reintroduction of national service.
In a statement yesterday, it said trainees for the programme would be selected based on their year of birth, and that only teenagers will be enrolled when the programme is revived. It further said the maximum age for participation is set at 35 years; and that trainees will be chosen based on their year of birth. The ministry said for instance, if PLKN is implemented in 2024, teenagers born in 2007 will be called to undergo the programme.
